The US M4 “Sherman” was the most widely produced and deployed Allied tank of the Second World war. Capable of matching the earlier German Panzer III’s and IV’s it was outclassed by the German Panthers and heavy tanks such as the Tiger and Tiger II. What the Sherman lacked in fire power and armour was more than made up for in numbers, mechanical reliability and ease of manufacture and repair in field.
Sherman’s in British use were identified by Mark numbers, so the standard M4 armed with a 75mm gun became the British Sherman Mk I.
The model is incredibly detailed and comes with a range of stowage, fuel cans, spare tracks, ammo boxes and a .50 cal MG.
