With the days of the Reich numbered the Germans were very much on the defensive. A whole series of bunkers and emplacements were devised using old, captured or obsolete turrets. Regelbau 687 was specified to mount a Panther turret. The concrete exterior walls were 1.5m thick, with the roof only 1.2m thick. This may have reflected that the turret was the only visible part of the bunker (the bunker was installed below ground) and was more likely to be engaged by tank or anti tank guns.
The Pantherturm features in our PDF scenario pack on the battle for Breslau.
