Since we added the Wargames Factory plastic figures to our stock we have had a lot of people asking what are they like? At each show we open up a box to show people the bits inside and everybody is always surprised, "Hey, they're really nice", or "They're much nicer than I thought they would be". These tend to be the types of comment that we hear from people. The box front just don't do the contents any justice at all.
I've put a few together and painted some to feature on the site so that people can have a look and see for themselves. I decided that I wouldn't do any conversion or adjusting at all. I wanted to make the figures straight from the box, so to speak. I also wanted to make matching figures for each force, currently just American and German Infantry. The figures are actually pretty good. there are a couple of things that don't sit too well with me, but for the price, basically 50p per figure I don't think that you can conplain. I'll get those things out of the way now and then I can focus on the figures, rather than the issues. The first thing that can be an issue with both sets of figures is the shoulders on a couple of the arm sets that stand up tall and look a bit strange, you can see these on the Officer figures that I painted. Some of the detail is a bit flat, the grenades on the Germans in their belts tend to be a little flat, but this is easily over come once they're painted. Finally the thing I really don't like is the German MP40, it is so long, I don't understand how it has come out this long at all, I guess that the figures/equipment have been created digitally so there seems no reason at all that the MP40 should be so wrong. Anyway enough of all that and onto the figures. There are enough weapons of each type to make the figures really interesting. A good mix of rifles, SMG's and LMG's with a smattering of pistols and genades etc throughout. The German box also comes with panzerfausts, shame there isn't a bazooka in the American box.
