KV-2 Heavy Artillery Tank

Designed to attack fortifications, the KV-2 used the chassis and suspension of the KV-1 with an extra large turret boasting a 152 mm howitzer. Its armour ranged from 30-110 mm thickness. They had problems with mobility and mechanical failure but were present at the defences of Moscow and Stalingrad. Those captured and put into German service were designated Panzerkampfwagen KV-II 754(r). Some were used against US forces late into the war.
